"Puer Aeternus" is a Latin phrase meaning "eternal child." In mythology, it refers to a child-god who remains eternally young. In psychology, particularly in the work of Carl Jung, it describes a psychological pattern where an adult's emotional life is stuck at an adolescent level, often characterized by a fear of growing up and taking on responsibilities. This archetype is also known as the "Peter Pan syndrome".
